What is Bloomberg Terminal? How could they help for research?

Bloomberg Terminal:

The Bloomberg Terminal is the leading platform in financial services used by various institutions including the private sector (investment banks, hedge funds…), government (ex: pension funds) and non-profit (ex: foundations). The Bloomberg Terminals is a comprehensive platform that puts together unparalleled news and research, powerful analytics, communications tools and world-class execution capabilities in one fully integrated leading solution.

BMC is an 8-hour self-paced e-learning course that provides a visual introduction to the financial markets. BMC consists of 4 modules-Economics, Currencies, Fixed Income and Equities-woven together from Bloomberg data, news, analytics and television.  This is a resume booster!

Date: Thursday Sept. 14th, 2017

Time: 2:00-pm – 5:00 pm

Place: DCOB 287 Finance Lab (or other location if more than 40 attendants)

Tentative Agenda

2:00 pm – 3:00 pm      Basic session reviewing various functions and available resources on Bloomberg that can help in terms of career development, networking, and applying for jobs

3:10 pm – 3:50 pm      Q&A to discuss Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) certificate, and answer any questions

4: 00 pm – 5:00 pm     Advanced session for research
